WAYNESBURG – Teaching with Primary Sources at Waynesburg University will offer its fall institute online, a free professional development opportunity through the Library of Congress Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 28 to Nov. 18.

Participants of TPS and the Common Core will have the opportunity to earn up to 15 PDE Act 48 Activity Hours and can expect an overview of the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Program.

Participants will learn strategies and methods useful for teaching with primary sources, how to select and use primary sources from www.loc.gov and how to integrate classroom activities with Common Core Standards. Participants can also expect independent reading, asynchronous collaboration and project development.

All educators are encouraged to explore online resources by expanding their understanding of the Library of Congress and discovering effective strategies for teaching with primary sources.
