Single-car crash: Canonsburg police said a driver crashed into a railing in front of Northwest Savings Bank at 148 Pike St. while she was trying to park about 10:30 a.m. Sunday, but no damage was done to the building. Police said neither the driver, Carol Backner, 52, of North Strabane Township, nor her passenger, William Backner, 50, was injured. The car had to be towed.

Copper stolen: A house for sale on Cumer Road was entered and copper piping was stolen before 12:27 p.m. Friday, township police said. Owner Marilyn Lankemeyer told police the house sustained water damage. This is the fourth similar report in the past few weeks of copper pipe being stolen from vacant houses that are for sale, police said.

Mailboxes hit by car: Dwight Logan II, 33, of 214 W. Country Barn Road, Chartiers, was cited for accident causing damage after township police said he crashed into two mailboxes in the 500 block of Allison Hollow Road shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday and left the scene.

Public drunkenness alleged: Matthew Kline Sr., 49, of 1664 Avella Road, Independence, was cited for public drunkenness after McDonald police said he caused a disturbance at the Uni-Mart convenience store at 35 Campbell St. Oct. 7.

Theft: Jewelry was taken from a residence in the 200 block of McCombs Road, and the nanny will be charged with theft, township police said. Alicia M. Thomas, 614 Fourth St., Monongahela, admitted to the owner, who also is a relative, she took the jewelry, and a summons will be sent by mail, police said. Monongahela police confirmed the jewelry was pawned at a shop in the city. No value was listed for the jewelry. The theft was reported at 12:14 p.m. Friday.

Unlocked vehicles entered: Vehicles parked at 1812 E. Maiden St. in South Strabane Township were entered Sunday morning, township police said, and money and a GPS worth $150 were stolen.

Halloween decorations stolen: A cast-iron bench and various Halloween decorations worth a combined $1,080 were stolen from a home in the 200 block of Wilbert Avenue early Saturday morning, South Strabane Township police said.
