NEMACOLIN – If you have fruitlessly flipped through the government listings in the phone book or been transferred from one agency to the next without finding the answers you were looking for, an event being held Tuesday in Nemacolin may provide an alternative.
Nemacolin Neighbors United, a grassroots community organization, has pooled together a variety of nearly 30 organizations and agencies for its first community services fair. The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nemacolin Volunteer Fire Department social hall.
Attendance is free to the public and all are encouraged to come and see what programs and services are available to them. Organizers stressed the fair is not just for residents of Nemacolin, despite NNU being a group focused on the revitalization of that community.
There will be information available about continuing education, government benefits, drug and alcohol services, police/fire/ambulance, domestic violence, scouting, hospice services and housing.
