Oak View United Methodist Church on Rolling Meadows Road will observe its 33rd anniversary at the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday. A power point history of the church will be shown. The church was established through a merger of the Morrisville and Coal Lick United Methodist Churches in 1978 to construct the new church, which was consecrated on Oct. 18, 1981. Fifty-year members Ruth Miller and Williamn Shultz will be recognized. Everyone is welcome.

Waynesburg University’s American Chemical Society’s Student Chapter will host its annual Haunted Lab event from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 28. in Stewart Science Hall. Admission is free and the public is invited. Designed to promote science education by showcasing fun and exciting demonstrations, all ages can benefit from this event. Participants will be guided throughout the experiment and activity stations run by university students and faculty members. “From glowing slime to rainbow flames, the Haunted Lab offers a unique opportunity to explore more than 25 Halloween-themed demonstration and activities performed by faculty and students,” said Evonne Baldauff, assistant professor of chemistry and chairman of the Chemistry and Forensic Science Department.
