The public is invited to the grand opening ceremony for the new military Commissary and Post Exchange, 99 Soldier Lane, Moon Township at 10 a.m. today. The opening comes after eight years of efforts by U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy, R-18th District, to secure funding and the required approvals to build a replacement facility for the stores, which were located on the grounds of the closed Charles E. Kelly Support Facility in Collier. Shoppers at the new stores will include area military retirees and enlisted soldiers and families from throughout Western Pennsylvania, including the 316th Army Reserve, the 911th Airlift Wing, the 171st Air National Guard, and new Navy Reserve Operations and Support Center.
