Tavern cited: The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement Oct. 8 charged the operator of Peggy’s Place, 1057 W. Pike Drive, with contaminated liquor, disorderly conduct, refusing to allow officers to inspect the building, serving liquor past closing time and failing to post no smoking signs.
Criminal trespass: Thomas Richard Wittbecker, 48, of 544 Marple St., Canonsburg, was charged Saturday night with criminal trespass, stalking and disorderly conduct after he allegedly entered his ex-wife’s residence on Morgan Street after he was told earlier in the evening he was not permitted there, according to an affidavit filed in the office of District Judge James Ellis. He was arraigned before Ellis and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Liquor violation: The operators of the Labor Temple Association of Canonsburg, 15-17 Central Ave., were charged Sept. 29 with selling alcohol after the club’s license expired by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.
DUI crash: Deborah J. Karr, 57, of 1162 Brush Run Road, Washington, will be charged by Canonsburg police with driving under the influence of alcohol stemming from a one-vehicle crash Sunday night in the 400 block of South Central Avenue. Police said her blood-alcohol content was almost twice the 0.08 limit when her vehicle went over a curb and hit a small wall. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Assault arrest: Douglas E. Sherman Sr., 55, of 609 Sheridan St., Monongahela, was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct following an incident at 11:30 p.m. Saturday at his home, according to an affidavit filed in the office of District Judge James Ellis. Sherman is charged with grabbing Barbara Denninger, tossing her to the ground and then dragging her, police said. She was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment. Sherman was arraigned before Ellis and was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Charged in crash: Terry A. Dubovich, 47, of Republic, will be charged by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol stemming from a crash about 9:30 a.m. Sunday on Route 40 near Half Moon Road, North Bethlehem. Police said he was driving west, attempting to pass four vehicles when the first vehicle, driven by Katrina Zediker, 40, of Bentleyville, attempted to make a turn. He struck the rear of her vehicle. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Counterfeit bill found: A counterfeit $10 bill was found at The Meadows Casino Saturday, state police said.
Teen injured: Mia Johnson, 16, of Bethel Park, suffered minor injuries to her face when she swerved her vehicle to avoid deer on Galley Road near Route 19 about 6 p.m. Saturday, North Strabane police said. Her vehicle slid on the wet road, jumped the curb and became disabled.
Equipment stolen: Tri-River Companies, Pittsburgh, reported Friday equipment in the 200 block of Village Green Drive was stolen, township police said. Missing were a laser device valued at $2,000 and a ceiling fan. Additional thefts were reported Saturday, including a showerhead, multitool, nail gun, saw, compressor, router, and three saws, police said.
Window broken: Louise Tenney of East National Pike, told South Strabane police over the weekend that the window of her van was broken while it was parked in front of her home.
Retail theft: Three people were charged with retail theft Sunday after township police said they took more than $500 in merchandise from Wal-Mart at Trinity Point, according to an affidavit filed in the office of District Judge James Ellis. Charged were Susan M. Layne, 40, of 102 Pendleton St., Bethany, W.Va., and Joseph Patrick Workman, 38, and Lauren M. Workman, 25, both of 310 Main St., Wellsburg, W.Va. All were arraigned before Ellis and placed in jail on $2,500 bond.
Theft arrest: Michael Supernaw, 56, of 520 W. Chestnut St., Washington, was charged with receiving stolen property and theft Friday night by Washington police following an incident at 109 W. Walnut St., according to an affidavit filed in the office of District Judge James Ellis. Police said he took the keys to a truck from owner David Chivers of East Prospect Street, Washington. The vehicle was found in the 100 block of West Walnut Street and police took Supernaw into custody when he entered the vehicle. Supernaw was arraigned before Ellis and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Liquor violation: The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement on Wednesday charged the operator of Dukman’s Beer Distributor, 15 Bridge St., with furnishing alcohol to a minor.
