Washington police impound man’s car
A Burgettstown man’s car was impounded Wednesday night after city police claimed they found it parked off Henderson Avenue with its interior littered with drug paraphernalia and a large amount of jewelry.
Police said they took the driver, Eric J. Pollock, 24, of 1067 Route 18, into custody about 8:30 p.m. in a parking lot at 575 Henderson Ave., and later sent him to Washington County jail on a state probation violation.
State police were notified about the car in order to obtain a warrant to safely search it because of the large number of syringes scattered in and around the vehicle.
Police said a large quantity of collector’s coins also were discovered inside the vehicle’s glove box.
Police were summoned to the area after another motorist reported the car for swerving in the parking lot.
It was found parked diagonally across several parking spaces when police arrived there.
Pollock is on probation after being released from prison in connection with a burglary in 2008 in Canonsburg, court records show.
