Two people were hurt when a man driving the wrong way on Interstate 79 in Robinson Township, Allegheny County, hit a tow truck head-on, state police said.

Benjamin W. Sleminski of Harmony was driving south in the northbound lanes near the Interstate 376 entrance early Saturday when his car hit a flatbed tow truck driven by George Dowdy of Gaithersburg, Md., head-on. Dowdy told police he saw the vehicle coming toward him and attempted to swerve. Both men were taken to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment of head and neck injuries.
