Action: Council agreed to place a sign indicating no left turn for trucks at the easterly intersection of Boyer and Bebout roads after reviewing numerous options. Residents expressed concerns of increased traffic from the Whispering Pines development currently being built.

They voted unanimously to approve a change in the Lakeshire Estates subdivision where 10.768 acres from Lakeshire will be sold to the developer of Hamlet of Springdale.

Additionally, council approved a request by the high school’s Interact Club to place banners and flags on the Arrowhead Trail bridge on East McMurray Road. Councilwoman Monica Merrell voted against the motion because she said the flags will not be properly illuminated.

They unanimously denied a temporary sign request by Donaldsons Crossroads Association to place two banners for one year at the shopping center entrances for the 50th anniversary celebration. Councilman David Ball said one year is not temporary.

The council also discussed ongoing plans for the former stormwater management pond in the Hidden Brook plan. The township will use bond money from the developer to convert the pond with fill, seed the area and install sidewalks. No work is expected until at least spring.

Council approved a change in the purchasing manual permitting sale of township equipment and supplies to volunteer fire departments and nonprofit ambulance services without bidding. The township previously sold a fire truck to Jefferson Hills Fire Department without receiving bids. The sale is legal even though the change was made after the sale.

Next meeting: 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10
