An Allegheny County man was arraigned Monday on a warrant after drugs were found in a vehicle seized by state police following a traffic stop earlier this month on Interstate 79 near the Meadow Lands exit in South Strabane Township.

Steven Lamont Abram, 24, of Verona, was charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, heroin and pills known as “Molly.”

Police stopped the car Oct. 6 after it was clocked going 80 mph in a 55 mph zone. Police could smell alcoholic beverages as well as raw marijuana coming from the car.

Suspected marijuana along with paraphernalia were found in the driver’s pocket. He was taken to Washington Hospital to determine if he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Charges are pending.

Abram, who was a passenger, was found with two plastic bags in one pocket and more than $1,000 in the other. Additional plastic bags were found on the floor.

Abram and another passenger were released. The vehicle was seized and police obtained a search warrant. Found inside the car were 10 bags of suspected marijuana, suspected “Molly,” suspected heroin and marijuana and paraphernalia.

Abram was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond. Additional arrests are expected.
