Two women arrested by state police after they were found inside a Canton Township motel room with their young children along with drug paraphernalia waived their cases to court Wednesday.

Vanessa Raye Mutschler, 27, of Pittsburgh, and Nyeacha Patrice Wilson, 24, of Wickhaven, waived charges of endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment, possession of paraphernalia and disorderly conduct during a court appearance before District Judge David Mark. Charges of terroristic threats were withdrawn by the prosecution.

State police and Washington County Children and Youth Services responded to the America’s Best motel, West Chestnut Street, Canton, Aug. 8 after getting a report of two women using heroin in front of their young children.

Police found the children, ranging in age from 2 to 5, running around with full diapers in bare feet and not wearing clothing. The room also was dirty. Police found paraphernalia, including empty stamp bags of suspected heroin.

The two women will be released from Washington County jail after their bond was amended from $50,000 to an unsecured bond.
