The man allegedly beaten by five California University of Pennsylvania football players was listed in fair condition Friday afternoon at a Pittsburgh hospital.

Lewis Campbell remained hospitalized at Allegheny General, although hospital spokeswoman Stephanie Waite would not disclose the severity of his injuries or if he was still in the intensive care unit.

Campbell, 30, of West Chester, was assaulted outside Spuds restaurant in the borough early Thursday morning.

James Williamson, Corey Ford, Jonathan Barlow, Rodney Gillin and D’Andre Dunkley were arrested Thursday and charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, harassment and conspiracy. The five men remain jailed on $500,000 bond.

Cal U suspended all of five players and canceled Saturday afternoon’s football game against Gannon.
