Jefferson girl to compete for national crown
JEFFERSON- Miss Pennsylvania Preteen, Joelle Pahanish, 12, of Jefferson was selected to represent the Commonwealth at the 2014 National Miss American Preteen scholarship competition over Thanksgiving week.
Pahanish, the daughter of Dave and Tammy Thistlethwaite, will compete in her age group at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. for an opportunity to win the title and thousands of dollars in cash awards, prizes and scholarships.
She will compete against the winners and finalists from state pageants held nationwide. The National Miss American Preteen pageant has been in existence since 1983.
Contestants have additional opportunities to win in categories of; national talent, speech, academic achievement, community service, photogenic, personality, modeling, acting, cover girl and hostess.
