PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto joined his colleague from Oklahoma City and Tacoma, Washington on “Meet the Press” to discuss how they try to overcome partisan politics to get things done — and how Congress should consider doing the same.
Peduto, a Democrat, appeared on Sunday’s national current affairs show along with Republican Mitch Cornett, of Oklahoma City and Marilyn Strickland, the Independent mayor of Tacoma.
Peduto says the “ultimate goal” of any government needs to be “‘What is the vision?’ And it has to be a shared vision.”
Peduto and the other mayors appeared on a segment of the show titled, “What Washington Can learn from America’s Cities.” It was part of a new, recurring segment on the NBC show called “Who Needs Washington?”
