Two face burglary charges
Two Monongahela men were arrested Monday after they were found inside a business on Railroad Street.
Arrested by Monongahela police were Christopher Edward Vaccari, 22, of 312 Eighth St., and Saber Miller, 19, of 607 Geary St.
Police received a report about 6:20 p.m. from a caller who said she saw two men enter Patterson Supply Co., 1101 Railroad St. The caller told a 911 dispatcher one of the intruders was wearing a black shirt and red shorts with a skull cap and the other wore a red shirt with black shorts and a ball cap.
Police entered the building through garage doors off 10th Street. The officer cleared the building and exited the other side. Police went to a building formerly used as an office for the business.
The officer walked up the back stairs and saw a man crawling out through a hole in the building. The burglar, later identified as Vaccari, was ordered to put his hands behind his back and was told that he was under arrest. After he was placed in custody, Miller came crawling out of the building and also was arrested.
When asked why they were in the building, Vaccari told the officer that they were looking for scrap metal.
They were arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of burglary and criminal trespass. They were placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 7 before District Judge Mark Wilson.
