MAMMOTH (AP) – State police are investigating after a 77-year-old man was found dead beneath a piece of farm machinery in his Western Pennsylvania garage.

The Westmoreland County coroner said the dead man is Paul Christie, of Mount Pleasant Township.

He was pronounced dead Thursday afternoon, about an hour after he was found pinned beneath the brush hog on which he was apparently working. The device is used to mow heavy brush and high grass.

The coroner said the man died because he couldn’t breathe. His death has been ruled an accident.
