TYRONE (AP) – Authorities said a train struck a car and a police cruiser following a pursuit in central Pennsylvania over the weekend, but no injuries were reported.

State police in Blair County said officers in Tyrone tried to stop a car for speeding on Interstate 99 in Centre County on Saturday evening, but the driver took off.

Police followed the car on Route 220 near the Tyrone Amtrak station, but both the driver’s car and the cruiser got stuck on the tracks.

Police said both vehicles were hit by an approaching Norfolk Southern train. The Mirror of Altoona reported that the civilian car was pushed about 100 feet down the tracks.

WJAC-TV reported that the car driver and a woman and child also in the vehicle were uninjured.
