County music will be featured from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the New Freeport fire hall. Bands scheduled to appear are Back Roads and Smokey Robbins. Cost is $4 and the event is sponsored by the ladies auxiliary.

The Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Carmichaels Methodist Church fellowship hall. Hope Blaker will present a Pampered Chef program for club members and guests. All members are encouraged to attend and to bring a guest. New members are welcome.

The annual veteran’s reunion for the Waynesburg unit of the Pennsylvania National Guard will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at Waynesburg American Legion, 676 E. High St., Waynesburg. All former and present members are invited to attend, including members of the Canonsburg unit. Food and refreshments will be served.

Greene County Humane Society will host a cash bash from 1 to 7 p.m. Oct. 19 in Building No. 9 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the shelter or by calling Brad at 724-833-4973. The event will include food and games and is the biggest single-day fundraiser for the society shelter, which operates from donations and community support.
