Kim Provance, tax collector for Rices Landing Borough, announced office hours when residents may pay their taxes before the end of the discount period Sept. 30. She will be in her office in the borough building from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Other times are by appointment by calling 724-592-5706.

Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority will shut off water in Waynesburg on Sugar Run Road from Cabin Road south to Policz Road from 8 to 4 p.m. Monday to opgrade the system. Customers may experience low pressure or no water and are advised to keep some containers of water to minimize the outage.

Greene County Veterans Affairs will hold a veterans’ outreach at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Mt. Morris Senior Center. Veterans can make an appointment or stop by to learn about services, including pension, compensation, disability, health care, life insurance, funeral and burial claims and retroactive benefits, said Dalene Watson, office director. A lunch and rummage sale will be held Oct. 2 and 3 at Washington Street United Methodist Church in Waynesburg. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The rummage sale will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take-outs and local deliveries will be available for lunch by calling 724-627-3240.
