A Washington man arraigned Monday on charges of harassment and stalking was arrested Tuesday by North Strabane Township police for allegedly violating a condition of his bond 20 minutes after it was set by a district judge.

William E. Merryman, 34, of 544 Bower Ave., was initially charged by township police for allegedly placing calls to the offices of his estranged girlfriend’s employer to try to get her fired, police said in court documents filed with District Judge Jay Weller.

Merryman was picked up on a warrant in connection with those charges Monday and arraigned before Weller, who released him on the condition he have no contact with Mackenzie Chronister. Police said 20 minutes after his arraignment, he allegedly placed a call to Chronister.

Merryman was taken into custody by township police Tuesday on a new charge of harassment and taken before Weller, who revoked the previous bond. Merryman was arraigned on the new charge. Weller set bond at $10,000 for each case and Merryman was placed in Washington County jail.
