WAYNESBURG – Theft charges in four unrelated cases were filed in Greene County magisterial district courts this week.
• Stacy Ann Demaske, 25, of 108 Mountainview Gardens, Waynesburg, is charged with nine counts each of access device fraud, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Police said Demaske and an unnamed female used a man’s debit card from Feb. 26 through March 13 at various Greene County locations without his permission. A total of $1,997 was stolen, police said. Waynesburg police Chief Rob Toth said surveillance video shows Demaske and the other woman making transactions with the card. Demaske allegedly told Toth she needed money to support a drug habit. Charges were filed Wednesday at District Judge Lou Dayich’s office. Toth did not say if the other woman will face charges.
• Ronald Lee Snyder Jr., 28, of 285 Byard Ave., Waynesburg, is charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition and theft by deception for an incident Nov. 25 at a Jefferson Township residence. State police said Snyder was assisting his father, Ronald Snyder Sr., who was doing gardening work at the residence of Dennis Franks at 1 Pumpkin Run Road, Rices Landing. When Franks’ daughter, Courtney Ignaski, returned home from work, she noticed her engagement ring and wedding band were stolen from a jewelry box. Franks found his diamond and gold wedding band, along with other miscellaneous jewelry were also stolen.
Franks told police Snyder Jr. used the restroom in the home Nov. 25 and Snyder Sr. told investigators he took his son to the Uniontown Mall later that day to pawn some jewelry. Snyder Sr. said he made the transaction because his son did not have any identification with him, police said.
Ignaski located four of the rings at the Premium Gold Exchange inside Uniontown Mall Nov. 28.
The charges were filed Tuesday at District Judge Glenn Bates’ office.
• Dominique Orlando Cage, 19, of 231 Second St., Clarksville, is charged with burglary, theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief for an Oct. 8 incident in Jefferson Township. Nancy Heft of 134 Second St., Pitt Gas, told state police two guitars and an amplifier belonging to her son were stolen. Heft learned the items were sold to two pawn shops, one in Monessen and the other in Belle Vernon. Police said workers at the pawn shops told them Cage used a North Dakota driver’s license in the transactions. Cage allegedly told police he and a friend gained access to the Heft residence by kicking in a basement door. Cage said they stole the guitars to sell for money to buy heroin, according to the criminal complaint. The charges were filed Tuesday at District Judge Glenn Bates’ office. Police did not say if Cage’s friend will also face charges.
• Tara L. Galloway-Hall, 33, of 612 Sixth St., Mather, is charged with theft by unlawful taking for an incident Sept. 24 in Franklin Township. State police said Galloway-Hall stole $125 from a wallet inside the residence of Jason Hopkins at 121 Jefferson Road. Hopkins told police Galloway-Hall and Denise Durbin were in his residence when he went to take a shower. He said he later entered his kitchen to see Galloway-Hall run out the door. Durbin told police she entered the kitchen to find Galloway-Hall stealing money from Hopkins’ wallet and said Galloway-Hall ran outside when Hopkins came into the room. Charges were filed Tuesday at District Judge Glenn Bates’ office.
