Charged in crash: Ruth A. Reese, 43, of 542 Elm St., Canonsburg, was charged last week by Canonsburg police with driving under the influence of alcohol and cocaine and leaving the scene of an accident stemming from a Nov. 26 hit-and-run crash in the 600 block of West College Street. She is accused of hitting a parked vehicle and fleeing. Police said her blood-alcohol content was double the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Theft charge: Alexander M. Martos, 24, of 612 Best Ave., Canton Township, was charged last week by Canonsburg police with retail theft. He is accused of loading a shopping cart at Rite Aid, 601 W. Pike St., with items valued at $848.82 Oct. 14. Police said he fled from the store pushing the cart and went up a nearby street to a residence. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Monitoring bracelet theft: Eric Barfield, 37, of 241 Caldwell Ave., Canton, was arraigned Monday on a theft charge after he allegedly left the area last December while wearing a monitoring ankle bracelet assigned to him by the Pennsylvania parole system. Barfield, who is jailed on the state parole violation, was arraigned by video before District Judge David Mark, who set bond at $25,000.
Checks stolen: The Ray Hough Co., 212 Muse Bishop Road, Muse, told police Thursday two checks were copied and cashed in New Jersey. One check was for $2,399.27, while the other check was for $2,361.15. The incident remains under investigation.
Car window broken: Robert Williams of New Kensington reported Thursday the drivers side window of his car was broken while it was parked at Range Resources, 3000 Town Center Blvd., Cecil Township.
Paraphernalia charges: Joseph Burger, 51, of 1576 Coolridge Ave., Monessen, and Marcella Shaffer, 44, of 326 Washington Ave., Charleroi, will be charged with possession of paraphernalia after Charleroi Regional police were called to Shaffer’s home for a domestic dispute. Police said empty stamp bags believed to have contained heroin, metal spoons and needles were found on a dresser. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Assault arrest: Freddie Dale Ervin, 30, of 33 Pump Station Road, East Bethlehem, was arrested by state police for allegedly assaulting Amy Jenkins Sunday at an East Bethlehem home. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of simple assault and harassment and was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Identity theft charge: Jody Lynn Grable of Charleroi was charged by state police with identity theft for allegedly using personal information of another person to obtain a credit card that was used at various locations in Fallowfield between August 2014 and March. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Fishing equipment stolen: Michael L. Smith of Charleroi told state police Saturday 12 fishing rods and two tackle boxes were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at 70 Campground Road, Fallowfield.
Fugitive arrest: Richard B. Baurle, 42, of Carnegie, was arrested Saturday by North Strabane police as a fugitive from justice after it was discovered he was wanted on an outstanding warrant issued by state police in Ohio County, W.Va., on a charge of access device fraud. Police said he was found passed out, intoxicated, in a public restroom at the Comfort Inn, 237 Meadowlands Boulevard. Baurle was arraigned as a fugitive before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail without bond, pending extradition to West Virginia. North Strabane police will charge him with public drunkenness.
Corruption charges: Terry Edward Bonnarens, 44, of 126 Lindley Road, North Strabane Township, was charged by Peters police with two counts each of furnishing alcohol to minors and corruption of minors. He is accused of purchasing Long Island iced teas for two 16-year-old girls at the Juniper Grill, Washington Road, Feb. 7. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge James Ellis.
Fleeing charge: Glenda Cottrill, 29, of Third Street, Washington, was charged by Peters police with fleeing or attempting to elude police, escape and driving under suspension after she allegedly fled from a traffic stop March 28. Her vehicle was later found crashed. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge James Ellis.
Printer stolen: Police said someone walked out of Kmart on Washington Road the afternoon of April 12 with a Brother printer valued at $149.79 and attempted to return it at the Kmart on Washington Pike in Bridgeville. The incident remains under investigation.
Purses stolen: Four Michael Kors purses valued at $802 were stolen from the outlet store at Tanger Outlets Sunday, South Strabane police said.
Copper stolen: An employee of McKean Plumbing, 468 W. Chestnut St., told Washington police Sunday that 3/8-inch copper coils were stolen from scrap metal outside the business. A man is seen on surveillance making several trips. Police determined the copper was sold at a local scrapyard. Charges are pending.
Harassment charge: Ryan Fonner, 22, of 222 Ridge Ave., was charged with harassment by Washington police after he allegedly assaulted Sharon Madison, 33, also of 222 Ridge, during a confrontation Friday.
Gift card stolen: An employee of Route 19 EZ Cash, Highland Avenue, told Washington police Friday a woman brought in a gift card to sell. When he was getting the money to pay her, she picked up the card and took the cash. He did not realize it was stolen until she left. A short time later, another woman tried to sell him the same card. Charges are pending.
Windshield damaged: William Stankowski Jr. of Jollick Manor told Washington police Friday that the windshield of his vehicle was damaged while it was parked in the housing lot.
Forgery charge: Ian C. Richards of Imperial will be charged with having altered or forged documents after police say he was found with altered registration on his vehicle during a traffic stop Friday at West Chestnut Street and Jefferson Avenue.
Father accused: Marvin Lee Denman, 46, of 17 W. Chestnut St., was charged by Washington police with harassment after allegedly punching his 17-year-old daughter Friday.
Meter damaged: Washington police said a parking meter in the 10 block of West Chestnut Street was damaged by vandals Saturday. The cash box also was opened, but it is not known if money was stolen.
Warrant arrest: Lori Sergi, 40, of 197 N. Main St., Washington, was picked up Saturday on a warrant stemming from charges filed in Fayette County. She also will be charged by Washington police with retail theft after she allegedly stole items from Shop ‘n Save, 125 W. Beau St.
Hood damaged: Gary Abel of 635 Donnan Ave. told Washington police the hood of his vehicle was damaged by vandals.
Woman assaulted: Misty Bender, 30, of Addison Street, told Washington police she was punched in the face and head Saturday during an incident at her home. Charges are pending.
Counterfeit money: A counterfeit $50 bill was passed Sunday at McDonald’s, Jefferson Avenue, Washington police said.
Paraphernalia charge: Julio Sanchez, 36, of 223 Lincoln Terrace, will be charged with possession of paraphernalia after he apparently overdosed on heroin Sunday, Washington police said.
Purse stolen: Kimberly Kelly of Canonsburg told Washington police early Monday that the window of her vehicle was broken and her purse containing a cosmetology kit and six irons for straigtening hair were stolen while her vehicle was parked in a lot at Henderson and Allison avenues.
Dumpster fire: Washington police said a fire was set early Monday inside a dumpster behind Pathways in the 600 block of Jefferson Avenue. City firefighters responded.
