ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — A goose with an arrow piercing its neck has been captured in Southern California.

Los Angeles television station KABC reports (http://bit.ly/1COAjlG ) that the goose approached an auto shop worker, who offered it food Wednesday morning.

The worker put the bird in the shop until it could be turned over to Orange County animal control.

The wounded bird was first reported to animal control officers about a week ago near the Anaheim Hills Golf Course, but it flew away when they approached. It appears to have been adapting to the injury.

Orange County Animal Care spokeswoman Katie Ingram says authorities suspect the goose was intentionally shot with the arrow.
