Theft charge: Lisa M. Hughes, 34, of 311 Parkview Knoll, Carmichaels, was charged with theft and receiving stolen property after Cumberland police said she stole $138 from a cash drawer while working April 10 at the Shop’n Save grocery store on Route 88.

Burglaries reported: State police are investigating a rash of burglaries that occurred Wednesday at three residences in Dunkard Township. Police said two homes on Holbert Stretch Road were burglarized between noon and 3 p.m., and another home on Bobtown Road was entered between 8:30 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. Items were stolen from each of three homes, although investigators did not elaborate on what was stolen or the value. Police did not say if the three burglaries are related.

Dirt bike stolen: A dirt bike was stolen from the bed of a pickup truck while it was parked outside the Jefferson Hotel in Jefferson Borough in the early hours of April 8, state police said.
