Former state lawmaker and magisterial district judge candidate Jesse White filed four lawsuits Wednesday alleging two news media organizations, a Facebook group and several individuals defamed him over the last five years.
White, who is representing himself, names as defendants in the lawsuits the Observer Publishing Co.; KDKA AM/CBS Pittsburgh; television and radio personality Marty Griffin; Washington attorney Charles Kurowski; Cecil Township Supervisor Thomas Casciola, who ran unsuccessfully against White in the 2014 primary; Darlene Barni; Judy Bowser; Janice Gibbs; Merl Williams; the Facebook group Concerned Citizens of the 46th District; and Donald Roessler.
He claims the defendants defamed him by disseminating or spreading false information which caused his private law firm in Cecil Township and his campaign to suffer.
Barni, Bowser and Gibbs run the Concerned Citizens of the 46th District, White alleges.
White is asking for judgment in the excess of $50,000 in each lawsuit.
