The state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will now use the Department of Transportation’s vehicle maintenance facilities near Pennsylvania’s seven state parks, including Ryerson Station in Greene County.

The DCNR vehicles posted at state parks will now be serviced at nearby PennDOT garages with the expectation that it will streamline work and save money.

DCNR vehicles and other equipment positioned at Ryerson Station State Park in Richhill Township will now be serviced at PennDOT’s maintenance garage on Jefferson Road in Franklin Township.

“Efficient government requires departments to work together to find opportunities to do things smarter and more economically,” acting DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn said.

The partnership was developed through the state’s “Mapping the Future” initiative, involving PennDOT, DCNR, the Turnpike Commission and other agencies to save resources and avoid duplicating efforts, state officials said.
