Greene County Youth Network will offer a two-session seminar for parents, guardians, coaches, youth mentors, youth leaders and like individuals from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday.

The seminar, “Intentional Parenting,” will feature Duffy Robbins, a 36-year veteran in youth ministry.

Robbins, professor of youth ministry at Eastern University, is a well-known speaker who has traveled the world speaking to teens and those who care about teens.

The seminars will be held at Waynesburg First Church of the Nazarene, 115 Deerfield Lane, Waynesburg.

Session one is entitled: Inside Their Head, Understanding the Teenage Mind. Session two is entitled: Intentional Parenting, Gaining Insight on Practical Principles.

The Greene County Youth Network hopes the seminar will help those working with or mentoring teens to be encouraged and challenged while gaining a greater understanding into the minds of teenagers.

“It is a privilege to have such a well-known youth leader and speaker as Duffy Robbins coming to our area to speak with parents and community members who are concerned about making an impact on youth,” said Ashley Beaman, director of the Greater Waynesburg Christian Outreach and a member of the Greene County Youth Network.

“Our hope is that many would be better equipped to parent, teach and encourage our youth to succeed,” she said.

Duffy is the author of hundreds of articles and more than 15 books including “Youth Ministry that Works,” “Ministry of Nurture” and “Youth Ministry Nuts and Bolts.”
