WHITNEY (AP) – Three people have been injured at a stone quarry in Western Pennsylvania and taken to hospitals, though officials haven’t said how they were hurt or whether they even work at the facility.

A woman who answered the phone at Hanson Aggregates PMA, which owns the quarry in Unity Township, confirmed the incident but couldn’t say who the injured people were. She says company officials were still at the scene of the stone quarry about 40 miles east of Pittsburgh.

County 911 dispatchers say the injuries were reported about 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Two of those hurt were flown to Pittsburgh hospitals with serious injuries while a third was taken to another hospital by ambulance.
