Drug arrest: Bradden S. Wadsworth, 29, of 115 Water St., Coal Center, was arrested early Friday by the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin, flight to avoid apprehension, resisting arrest and tampering with evidence after police received information he would be in the area of Second and Wood streets, California, with a large quantity of heroin he allegedly planned to sell. Police said that when he was approached by detectives, he ran. During the pursuit, he dropped a bag he was carrying that contained five bricks of suspected heroin, detectives said. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Drug paraphernalia charge: Sarah Vincenti, 20, of 12 Top Street, McDonald, was pulled over Monday on a routine traffic stop in Southpointe, and police said they found two empty stamp bags and a marijuana pipe. Vincenti will be charged via summons with two counts of possessing drug paraphernalia.
Harassment charge: James J. Woods, III, 41, of Marianna, will be charged by state police with harassment after he allegedly hit an 18-year-old man in the face during an incident Tuesday at Marianna Park.
Scam reported: A McDonald woman told McDonald police Wednesday she received a telephone call from a person claiming to represent the federal Internal Revenue Service telling her she owes $3,965 in taxes from 2012 and 2013. She did give him her Social Security number. He requested she make payment in different forms, but she refused. When she would not pay, he reportedly told her he was coming to get her.
DUI, endangerment charges: Jarrad A. Wise, 19, of 49 Naser Ave., Washington, will be charged by North Franklin police with driving under the influence of alcohol, minor driving under the influence of alcohol, endangering the welfare of children, restriction on alcoholic beverages and harassment after he was stopped following an incident at No. 4 dam off Scenic Drive. Wise is accused of hitting Brittany Dupain, 18, of Washington in the arm and knocking Melanie Norris, 18, of Washington, to the ground during a confrontation. He then allegedly got into his vehicle and fled with his 2-year-old daughter in the vehicle. He was stopped a short time later by Washington police. Police said Wise had a blood-alcohol content about seven times the 0.02 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed in younger than 21. Police said Wise was in possession of an empty bottle of alcohol. Wise was placed in Washington County Jail on a probation violation. He will be arraigned on the charges later before District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Suspicious man: A 13-year-old residing in the 100 block of Ammons Drive in McMurray told police a strange man entered his house Monday. According to police reports, the intruder was in his early 20s with dark hair. Police did not find the man, but there were indications someone had been in the house.
Tools stolen: A survey laser and a pressurized grease gun were reported stolen July 31 from an unsecured truck parked at Grande Italian Restaurant, 4205 Washington Road.
House burglary: Police are investigating a home burglary that took place Monday in the 100 block of Brookdale Court, McMurray. Police said a man with short dark hair who was wearing a pink tie-dye T-shirt and cargo pants was seen near the house. A window in the back of the home was broken. Closets and drawers were opened and ransacked. The owner of the home is working on an inventory of the missing items.
Money stolen: Washington police said $750 was reported stolen Thursday from a vehicle owned by Robert Pettit of Washington while it was parked in front of 50 Shannon Ave.
Pool office burglarized: An employee of Washington Park pool told Washington police Thursday the office was burglarized and the cash register stolen. The register was found in the grass across from the office, broken into pieces. No money was in the register at the time of theft, police said.
Harassment charge: William Montgomery, 25, and John Montgomery, 46, both of 285 Brookside Ave., Washington, were charged with harassment by Washington police stemming from a confrontation at their home. William Montgomery is accused of pushing his mother because she was helping his girlfriend move out of the home. John Montgomery then reportedly hit his son, police said.
Gun waved: Washington police received a report about 4:30 p.m. Thursday of a man wearing blue shorts and a white shirt waving a gun in the 500 block of West Chestnut Street. The man with the gun had his hair cut in a box style with shaved sides.
