Theft arrest: Regina Hunnell, 52, of 225 Laurie Lane, Amwell Township, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by South Strabane police after she allegedly stole items valued at $284.96 from Kohl’s, Strabane Square. Store security told police that she put clothing and household items in her purse and then paid for items worth $26.73 at the checkout before leaving. Police said she also had clonazepam in her purse. Police said she had been placed on probation earlier in the day after a fast-track hearing before District Judge Jay Weller on another charge of retail theft for stealing from Giant Eagle in Strabane Square. She was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of retail theft and possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance.
Faces DUI charge: Cami Ashley Mapel, 49, of 42 Mancha St., Eighty Four, faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, having expired registration and inspection and failing to change her address after police say she was found passed out in her car in the parking lot at Old Mill with the engine running and a taco salad dumped on her lap Tuesday afternoon. Police said she was taken to Washington Hospital, where blood was drawn to determine her alcohol level.
Bicycle stolen: Tiffany Duncan of Washington told Washington police Tuesday her son’s blue Mongoose bicycle with “Patrick” painted in green on the crossbar and a “Pitt” sticker on it was stolen from Tyler Avenue near Washington High School stadium.
Woman assaulted: Jamie Fisher, 18, of Addison Street, told Washington police she was walking in the 700 block of Ewing Street Tuesday when she was confronted by another woman who punched her in the face. Fisher told police she ran home. She was treated by ambulance personnel. Charges are pending against her alleged attacker.
Woman charged: Dietra Sparks, 38, of 240 N. College St., Washington, was charged by Washington police with harassment and criminal mischief after she allegedly struck Dionne Jackson, 50, of East Walnut Street, Washington, in the face while the two were in a vehicle with Sparks’ ex-husband outside Jackson’s home Tuesday.
Woman punched: Jessica Mastic, 27, told Washington police a man forced his way into her Extension Avenue home, demanded money, pushed her down and punched her Tuesday. Mastic was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. Police searched the area for the alleged assailant. Charges are pending against him.
