DUI, fleeing charges: Eric William Miles, 49, of 703 Addison St., Washington, was arrested early Friday by state police after he allegedly fled from a trooper who was trying to stop him on East Pike Street, Canonsburg. The trooper attempted to stop him for an equipment violation. Miles reportedly continued to accelerate and made several turns. Police said it appears a tire on Miles’ vehicle was damaged during the pursuit. Police said Miles’ blood-alcohol content was 1 ½ times the 0.08 limit for intoxication. Miles was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of fleeing or eluding police, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license, driving under suspension, careless driving, reckless driving, not having headlights and not wearing a seat belt. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bond.
Two-vehicle crash: A two-vehicle crash about 5 p.m. Wednesday tied up traffic at Morganza Road and Bobby Vinton Boulevard, Canonsburg police said. Neither driver, Deana Joy Schmitt, 34, of 28 Nicholas Lane, Canonsburg, nor Charles Harvison, 45, of 17 W. McNutt St., Houston, was injured. Both vehicles had to be towed, and Canonsburg firefighters responded to clean fluids from the road.
Theft charges: Daniel B. Reilly, 21, of 669 Buena Vista St., Canton, was charged Thursday by state police with theft by deception, access device fraud and theft after he was accused of taking his grandmother’s debit card from her home on Brand Avenue and using it to make unauthorized withdrawals of $102 and $81.75. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Drug charge: Cody Jefferson, 31, of 1073 Addison St., Washington, was charged Thursday by state police with possession of heroin after he was found with 10 stamp bags of suspected heroin while a passenger in a vehicle stopped in the 1200 block of Fayette Street, Canton, on Tuesday. Police were behind the vehicle when Jefferson reportedly threw the bags out of the window. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Threats, loitering charges: Jennifer Rose Sundy, 34, of 223 Fourth St., McDonald, was charged Monday by Cecil police with terroristic threats, criminal mischief and loitering and prowling at night. She is accused of going to the Profio Road home of her nephew’s former girlfriend Aug. 12 after allegedly threatening her and her new boyfriend. She also allegedly caused $2,448 damage to his pickup truck, police said. Sundy was with an unidentified man at the time, police said. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
Paraphernalia charge: Brandy Alderson, 33, of 5 Wren Way, South Strabane, was charged Friday by Chartiers police with possession of drug paraphernalia after she was found with the items during an adult probation compliance check March 13 at 439 Fourth St. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Loitering charge: Shaquashia Sims, 23, of Uniontown, was charged Friday by Chartiers police with loitering and prowling at night after police received a complaint Aug. 15 that she was knocking on doors in the 600 block of North Main Street. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Heroin charge: Kasie R. Goff, 33, of Triadelphia, W.Va., was charged Friday by state police with possession of heroin and speeding after she was found with the suspected drug during a traffic stop Tuesday on Interstate 70 westbound near the West Chestnut Street exit, North Franklin. Goff was taken into custody as a fugitive from justice and placed in Washington County jail without bond pending extradition to Monongalia County, W.Va., where there is a warrant for her arrest. The drug charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Three-vehicle accident: No one was injured in a three-vehicle accident Wednesday at West McMurray and Washington roads. Police identified the drivers in the crash as Gretta D. Gillespie, 84, of Carlisle Drive, McDonald, and Connor Schwartz, 17, of Stratford Drive, and Clare Rollinsin, 44, of East McMurray Road, both of McMurray.
Disorderly conduct charge: Jeremy Martincic, 36, of Orchard Drive, Pittsburgh, was cited by police Wednesday for an altercation involving money in the parking lot of Pizzaz Italian Restaurant, 2850 Washington Road. Police said Martincic tried to stop the vehicle of a person who allegedly owed him money. Both men traded punches, police said.
Retail theft arrest: Police arrested Brandon Ogg, 32, of San Clemente, Calif., Thursday for retail theft at Sports Clips, 4120 Washington Road. According to police, Ogg had concealed $35 in merchandise in his shorts while he was getting his hair cut. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Wallet stolen: Sam Calabro, of 55 Campbell Ave., told Washington police Thursday his wallet containing $100 and a bank card were stolen by a woman who took it from his pants pocket when she stopped at his home to sell him a lottery ticket. He told police he only knows her by her first name.
House burglarized: Rachel Rausch, of 1100 Bruce St., told Washington police Thursday a Playstation 3, a video game and change were stolen in a burglary at her home.
