LANCASTER (AP) – A central Pennsylvania man serving 12 to 24 years in prison after he was caught on a hidden camera having sex with a 14-year-old girl has lost his appeal to withdraw his guilty plea.

Fifty-one-year-old Leon Tadych of Millersville pleaded guilty two years ago in Lancaster County.

He appealed claiming his attorney gave him bad advice about the video evidence. Tadych’s wife had consented to having the camera secretly installed in their home, and Tadych says his defense attorney told him he might be able to get that video thrown out of evidence.

Tadych says the attorney told him to plead guilty anyway in hopes of a lighter sentence because he’d likely be convicted due to other evidence – including letters Tadych wrote to the victim.

LNP reports the Superior Court rejected his appeal last week.
