The last of three defendants charged in connection with a heroin bust that resulted from a traffic stop in Monongahela in 2014 was sentenced Thursday in Washington County Court.

Cassandra Marie Mock, 22, formerly of Monongahela, appeared before Judge Gary Gilman for sentencing on a guilty plea she entered in September to a charge of conspiring to violate the Drug Act.

Police confiscated three bricks of suspected heroin and five bags of marijuana in the October 2014 traffic stop on Park Avenue.

Cassandra Mock admitted to purchasing marijuana but may have been unaware of a heroin buy, according to information presented in court.

Her father, Henry Harrison Mock III, 42, of New Eagle, the driver of the vehicle, had felony drug charges dismissed after a habeas corpus hearing. He pleaded guilty to a marijuana possession charge in June and Gilman placed him on probation for a year.

Gilman on Thursday sentenced Cassandra Mock, who came to court with her infant son, to 23 months in the Intermediate Punishment Program with the first 90 days to be spent on electronic home monitoring.

She asked her supervision be transferred to Allegheny County, where she now resides. She gave the clerk of courts a Tarentum address and, according to statements made in court, she has a protection-from-abuse order against Martell Damon Mitchell, 21, her child’s father.

Mitchell, 21, whom Gilman characterized as the “leader, for lack of a better term,” of the threesome, appeared May 21 before Judge John DiSalle and pleaded guilty to a felony charge of intending to deliver heroin. He was sentenced to 205 days to 23 months in jail.

According to court records, charges against Mitchell of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana for person use were dismissed.
