MOUNT OLIVER – Authorities in Western Pennsylvania said two boys are expected to survive critical injuries in a drive-by shooting near Pittsburgh that also wounded two other people.
Police chief Matt Juzwick said Saturday a 13-year-old boy hit by the 7 p.m. gunfire in Mount Oliver improved after surgery at UPMC Mercy.
He said an 11-year-old boy taken to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh also improved.
A 16-year-old was also taken to UPMC Mercy with minor injuries and a man was treated at the scene.
Police said the three teenagers were shot on steps near a convenience store and the adult was hit on the opposite side of the street.
The man said the driver and front-seat passenger fired out of both sides of a dark-colored car. Juzwick said the motive for the shooting is unknown.
