Police Beat Dec. 16
Assault arrest: David John Price, 19, of 293 White Barn Road, Waynesburg, was arraigned Monday before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of simple assault and harassment filed by state police after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend, Stevie Bradford, at her Buffalo Township home Dec. 5. He was released from Washington County jail after posting $25,000 bond.
False information: Eric M. Wytovich, 36, of 180 Walnut Road, Claysville, was arraigned Monday before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of furnishing false information and unsworn falsification filed by state police after he allegedly provided false information on an application he filled out June 2 to purchase a gun at ARH Sport Shop, Route 40, Buffalo. He was released on $50,000 unsecured bond.
Driver injured: Kerrie G. Gill, 80, of Brownsville, was injured in a single-vehicle crash about 8 p.m. Monday on Edward Street at California Road, California police said. Police found her lying on the road and the vehicle crashed into the hillside. She was flown to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, where a spokeswoman said she was in critical condition Tuesday. Police said it appears she was traveling on Edward approaching California when the vehicle went off the road.
Drug, false ID charges: Richard Franklin Glover, 26, of Grindstone, was charged Monday by California police with false identification to police, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic violations stemming from a Nov. 21 traffic stop at Pennsylvania Avenue and Park Street. Police said they found used syringes and pipes in the vehicle. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
One injured: Idella L. McAfee, 64, of Elm Street, Canonsburg, was injured when her vehicle and a vehicle driven by Renae E. Ott, 32, of Dagsboro, Del., collided in the 500 block of West Pike Street about 5:45 p.m. Monday, Canonsburg police said. McAfee was taken to Canonsburg Hospital. Ott told officers she had been drinking. She also was taken to the hospital, where blood was drawn to determine if she was under the influence.
Keys, card stolen: Victoria Bober, 107 Murdock St., told Canonsburg police Saturday her car keys were stolen from her home. When she checked her car, it was unlocked and a debit card and checkbook were stolen.
Driver injured: Jeffrey G. Meace, 74, of Washington, was injured Sunday when he pulled from Jack Street onto West Chestnut Street, Canton, and struck a vehicle driven by Adam Lytton, 29, of Claysville, state police said. Meace was cited for making an improper turn and driving without a license.
Two arrested: Donald E. Andrews, 60, and Lori Kendzlic, 41, both of 536 Bower Ave., Canton, were arrested Friday by state police on charges of simple assault and harassment after allegedly assaulting each other during a confrontation at their home. They were arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bonds.
Money stolen: Steven Cheesman of Stone Crest Road told Cecil police Monday he had cash on his coffee table. When he returned home, the money was gone.
Trailer burglarized: A construction trailer owned by Alex E. Paris Construction of Atlasburg was broken into over the weekend at the Arden Farms construction site, North Main Street Extension, Chartiers police said. Copper and a saw were stolen.
Batteries stolen: Batteries and battery fittings were reported stolen Monday from two excavators owned by 18 Karat Inc. that were parked on a coal mine access road off Newland School Road, East Finley, state police said. Anyone with information is asked to call state police.
Gun found: State police said a gun found in a wooded area of the state gamelands in East Finley was turned over to them Friday. Anyone with information can call state police at 724-223-5200.
Drug, corruption arrest: Daniel Barley, 19, of 506 Fannie St. Ext., McDonald, was arrested early Saturday by Mt. Pleasant police after he and a 17-year-old boy were found sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of Fort Cherry High School, 110 Fort Cherry Road. Police said Barley had marijuana, paraphernalia and cash. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, corruption of minors and possessing instruments of a crime. He was released from Washington County jail Monday after posting $25,000 bond.
Retail theft charge: Police arrested a McKees Rocks man and charged him with retail theft Friday. Police said Brian Scott Daugherty, 30, took $240 worth of merchandise from the Kmart on Washington Road, including three calculators, a lighter, three DVDs, a knitted hat and a folding knife. Daugherty was apprehended at Canonsburg Lake, police said. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond. He also was wanted on a bench warrant from another county.
Two charged: Shanequa T. Smith, 26, and Michael J. Revis, 39, both of Pittsburgh, were arrested Sunday by South Strabane police after they allegedly stole items valued at $265.87 from H&M, Tanger Outlets. Police said Smith had a purse lined with foil. They were arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of possessing instruments of a crime, retail theft and conspiracy. They were placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bonds.
Leads stolen: Jeremy Carter of Bethel Park told South Strabane police Friday copper leads were stolen from his pickup truck while it was parked at Washington Ford, Washington Road, for repairs.
Identity stolen: Yvette Brown of Broadside Avenue told Washington police Friday her personal information was used to set up a Comcast account in Florida. She learned of it after being contacted by a collection agency.
Woman threatened: Dorothy Gaito of Fayette Street told Washington police Saturday afternoon a black man wearing a gray tank shirt and gray jeans threatened to kill her if a cellphone he claimed was stolen from a friend was not returned. She said he had short hair and a tattoo on his neck.
Decorations stolen: April Garner of 515 W. Chestnut St. told Washington police Sunday that Christmas decorations were stolen from outside her home.
Windshield damaged: Diantha Baker of 600 Ewing St. told Washington police Sunday the windshield of her vehicle was broken.
Probation warrant: Scott Jordan, 31, of 752 Duncan Ave., Washington, was taken into custody Sunday by Washington police on a probation warrant after police said he was found sitting in a car that did not belong to him. Police received complaints of a man going through vehicles in that area. Police also were given a cellphone found in a nearby parking lot. The phone was reported stolen last week.
Windshield broken: Marci Gossic of 514 E. Maiden St. told Washington police Sunday the windshield of her vehicle was broken with a brick. Charges are pending.
Vehicle damaged: Rebecca Fitzgerald of 1156 Maple Terrace told Washington police Sunday the windshield of her vehicle was broken.
Theft: David Michael Strohmeyer, 33, of 75 Beason Ave., Marianna, was charged with receiving stolen property after the owner of a Hility core drill who reported it stolen in August found it being sold in an online auction, police said.
Drug charges: Jody Lynn Ellis, 55, of 418 E. Maiden St., was charged with drug possession with intent to deliver after police said they recovered 18 bags of heroin from her following an Aug. 2 traffic stop.
Drug charges, DUI: Raine Ann Davidson, 35, of 902 Chartiers St., faces two counts of DUI and charges of driving without a license and reckless driving following an Oct. 12 traffic stop at the intersection of Beau Street and Jefferson Avenue, police said. Davidson was pulled over for a burned-out light on her car, and police said they found seven packets of heroin. A blood test revealed Davidson was driving under the influence of cocaine and morphine, police said.
Drug charges: Kenneth Leroy Miller, 59, of 595 Fayette St., was arraigned Monday on four counts of drug possession with intent to deliver and charges of driving with a suspended license and driving without a valid inspection, according to court documents. Miller was pulled over Monday for an expired inspection, and police said they found seven bags of heroin, a bag of marijuana and a syringe.
Drug charges: Stacy D. Pawich, 45, of Washington, will be charged with 10 counts of possession with intent to deliver, six counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, eight counts of possession of a controlled substance and failure to use a safety belt after the car in which he was a passenger was pulled over Monday for an expired inspection. Pawich allegedly had seven full glassine bags of heroin, four empty glassine bags, a syringe and tie-off kit. Police also allege Pawich was found with suspected crack cocaine Dec. 4. No further information was available. Charges will be sent by summons.
