Cecil residents and their children huddled together to stay warm and to protect their candlelight while caroling for Luke Blanock and his family.

Almost a hundred people gathered outside Luke Blanock’s house overlooking Cecil Elementary Saturday evening to sing Christmas Carols for him and his family.

Blanock, 18, continued to play basketball at Canon-McMillan High School while undergoing treatment for Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare bone cancer.

His condition has entered its terminal stage, according to family, so community members huddled together in sub-freezing weather to keep candles lit and spirits high as they sang in honor of him.
