PITTSBURGH (AP) – A jury has acquitted a Western Pennsylvania man accused in the killing of his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend in 2012.

Twenty-seven-year-old Joshua Wright was cleared of all counts on Tuesday. He had been charged with killing 24-year-old Da’Shawna Gibson and 23-year-old Michael Black in the bedroom of their Wilkinsburg home.

Defense attorney James Wymard argued during the trial that the prosecution’s case rested on a witness whose story changed several times and who says she heard the couple get shot, but didn’t report it for hours.

Prosecutors say the witness saw Wright leave the house after hearing a loud noise upstairs. She found the victims dead in their bed.

Wright’s mother testified that he was with her at the time of the shooting.
