Police beat Dec. 24
Fraud, forgery charges: Joseph Estrad Gallagher, 18, of 106 Dallas St., Bentleyville, was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of access device fraud and forgery. Gallagher’s mother noticed a $48 purchase of a hand ax that was made on her debit card Nov. 27, according to court documents. Gallagher was placed in Washington County jail Tuesday on $3,000 bond.
Assault charges: Mikel Anthony Benson, 54, of 704 Francis Mine State Road, Burgettstown, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct after he allegedly slammed his girlfriend’s mother against a wall at their shared residence. Mikel also allegedly threatened to shoot a dog, Hanover Township police said. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Drug charges: Rachael Acton, 26, of 445 Bow St., Stockdale, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for drug possession and was hit with an additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after she was found with needles, Charleroi police said.
Theft reported: Police are investigating the theft of money and lottery tickets Tuesday from the BP Ruff Creek gas station and convenience store in the 3800 block of Washington Road.
Retail theft: Employees from Saks Off 5th at Tanger Outlets reported $1,000 in merchandise missing Tuesday, and saw a silver Cadillac with a covered license plate speeding away about 10:30 p.m, police said.
Retail theft: Devin Scholato, 26, of 1381 Allison Ave., Washington, will be sent theft charges via summons after he allegedly walked out of Kohl’s without paying for a sweater and a necklace, police said.
Theft charges: Jacob Newlon, 22, no known address, faces charges of theft, criminal conspiracy and trespass stemming from an August 2014 theft of various tools valued at $2,500 from ROC Services on Rainey Road, according to court documents. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on Tuesday and placed in Washington County jail on $3,000 bond.
Burglary: Linda Ketter reported to police Tuesday her apartment at 530 S. Main St. had been burglarized, and an Xbox game console and $1,800 in jewelry were missing.
