Developers form partnership
Washington-based Millcraft Investments has partnered with an Ohio firm to form Millcraft-Welty Construction, with locations in Washington and downtown Pittsburgh.
Millcraft, a top real estate and development company in the region, announced the venture this week. It has joined forces with Welty Building Co. of Fairlawn, Ohio, which has developed a number of projects in its home state, including Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.’s global headquarters in Akron and renovations to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton.
The new company is involved in pre-construction work on several Pittsburgh-area projects. It will be construction manager for a Home2 Suites by Hilton complex in Monaca, Beaver County, with vertical construction to begin in the spring.
Millcraft-Welty also plans to break ground on a Hilton Garden Inn adjacent to there in late summer.
Donzell Taylor, president and CEO of Welty Building Co., will hold those positions with Millcraft-Welty until a new president is hired.
It plans to hire 20 to 25 by the end of 2016 and will leverage the workforces at both original firms.
