Police beat Dec. 26
Assault: Michael Lee Lambert, 23, of 15 Coal St., Dunlevy, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Larry Hopkins on charges of simple assault and harassment following a domestic dispute with his brother over a cellphone, state police said. Lambert allegedly punched Marshall Tucker Lambert and struck him with a brick.
Thefts from vehicles: Several residents reported to Canonsburg police Wednesday items had been stolen from their parked vehicles. Raymond Bell Jr. of 21 Arch St. reported two 75-foot sections of copper welding leads worth $500 were stolen from his work truck while it was parked on Arch. Kevin Cartwright of 116 North St. reported a jacket and gloves worth $75 were stolen from his unlocked vehicle in his driveway, and Kathy Boehmer of 101 Colonial Way reported someone rummaged through her car and took change. Her neighbor, Morgan L. Ricki, reported her wallet and $13 in cash were stolen.
Retail theft attempt: Employees of Family Dollar, 594 W. Pike St., reported Wednesday a woman attempted to leave the store about 3 p.m. with a bag full of items without paying. When confronted, the woman left the bag in the store and fled.
Drug charges: Brian K. Allen, 24, of 1200 Fayette St., Washington, was placed in Washington County jail Wednesday on charges from a June 28 incident. According to the complaint, Allen was pulled over by state police for speeding on Interstate 79. The officer placed Allen in custody after Allen notified him of an existing warrant. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license, driving while license suspended, speeding, operating a vehicle without a valid inspection, two charges of driving under the influence and failure to use a seat belt. His bail was set at $75,000. A preliminary hearing is set Jan. 5.
Crash: Tracey Willmann, 46, of Ridge Ave., Canonsburg, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital after crashing her vehicle into a pole overnight Thursday in the 600 block of South Pike Street. Her condition was not known.
Assault charge: Ray Michael Clutter, 38, of 300 Rock Hollow Road, Claysville, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of simple assault and harassment after punching a female victim, breaking her glasses and dragging her by her hair, state police said. Clutter was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Retail theft: Employees of Rite Aid, 1001 Jefferson Ave., reported a man entered the store about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, took several bottles of cologne and fled west on Wylie Avenue.
Vehicle fire: Items in the bed of a dump truck caught fire about 3 a.m. Thursday while the truck was parked at 100 Wallace Lane. Washington firefighters extinguished the flames. Washington police said the damage was contained to the bed.
Theft charge: Thomas A. Wormsley, 46, of 122 N. Main St., was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Robert Redlinger on access device fraud charges after the victim gave Wormsley a ride in her car Oct. 22 and noticed missing four gift cards valued at $100, a debit card and $45 in cash, police said. Wormsley was placed in Washington County jail.
