Robbery: Canonsburg police are investigating a Tuesday robbery at Ross Beverage, 173 E. Pike St., where a man dressed in all black with a coat zipped up over his face held up the beer distributor for $1,500. The suspect was observed on security cameras pressing an unknown object into the back of an employee and demanding the employee hand over cash. The suspect fled on foot.

Theft from porch: Virginia Lee Stock, 28 Raven Drive, reported Tuesday a One Direction bedspread, valued at $25, was missing from her front porch.

Assault charge: Timothy A. Hewith, 30, was charged by summons with simple assault after he allegedly grabbed a 25-year-old woman by the throat Monday at 25 Old Plank Road, state police said.

Theft: Steve Forner, 61, of Sycamore, reported to South Strabane police Tuesday his rental wheelchair was stolen at Walmart in Trinity Point when he left it at the entrance to use an electronic seated cart to shop.

Attempted burglary: An unknown actor Sunday attempted to break into Robert Morrison’s garage on Cinque Terra Place, Southwest Regional Police said.

Robbery: Washington police are investigating a Tuesday robbery in which Joshua Marshman of North Main Street reportedly was held up by three men who stole the gifts he was carrying and his wallet. One of the men allegedly punched Marshman in the back of the head as he was walking along Hallam Avenue before taking a toy bike and his wallet with $55, police said. Marshman was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.

False Identification charges: Two women were cited in separate incidents by state police for providing false identification to officers. Syna Della Washlack, 38, was stopped by police Saturday on East Maiden Street and presented a fake ID, according to court documents. Tabatha Lynnell Harden, 26, was cited for providing false ID to police during a Monday traffic stop on Hancock Street, according to court documents. Both women had their charges filed with District Judge Robert Redlinger.
