Assault charge: John Puskar, 40, of 3434 Ridge Lane, Finleyville, was charged Thursday by Cecil police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly hitting his wife, Jennifer Puskar, in the head while they were in a room at the Hilton Garden Inn the previous day. Police said she was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment. Charges were sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
Stolen identity: Chad Horcick of 120 Papp Road, Canonsburg, told police Monday someone filed a 2014 tax return based on his 2013 tax returns. The incident remains under investigation.
Gift card stolen: Mark Smith of 1036 Windance Drive, McDonald, told police Monday a $100 Marshalls gift card sent to his wife, Andrea Smith, was stolen from a birthday card that was mailed to her.
Drug charges: Kevin B. Woodhouse Jr., 31, of 692 N. Main St., Houston, was arraigned Monday on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Woodhouse was taken into custody Wednesday after Chartiers police said they received a tip he was planning to sell heroin to a person in a parking lot on West Pike Street. Police said he was found with 16 bags of suspected heroin and suboxone. Woodhouse was placed in Washington County jail Wednesday on a bench warrant. District Judge David Mark set bond at $25,000 on the drug charges.
Two injured: Avery Lewis, 28, of Clarksville, and his passenger, Michelle Diersen, 25, also of Clarksville, were injured Sunday night when his vehicle went off Bailey Road near Ridgewood Drive, Deemston, and hit a tree, state police said. They were taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment. Lewis will be cited for failing to drive at a safe speed.
Drug charges: Cottie Marie Richter, 25, of 335 Buffalo Ridge Road, Buffalo Township, will be charged by McDonald police with possession of drug paraphernalia after she allegedly was found with four empty stamp bags of heroin Sunday night. Police said they were called to a residence on Noblestown Road in Midway after Richter apparently overdosed on heroin. Richter was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment. She was taken into custody after police learned she left the hospital in a taxi heading for McDonald. She was placed in Washington County jail on a probation violation and will be arraigned on the drug charge later.
Saw stolen: Marcus Neihenke of Pittsburgh told North Franklin police Sunday a mitre saw was stolen from a building at 407 W. Maiden St.
Jewelry stolen: Henry White, 22, of Brownsville Road, Library, is charged with theft stemming from a Jan. 23 incident at a home on Justabout Road. According to police, White was doing some work inside the house, and the homeowner later noticed a diamond tennis bracelet valued at $1,250 and a gold rope chain necklace worth $225 were missing. Police said White’s girlfriend was later discovered wearing a gold rope chain that matched the missing necklace.
