Jefferson-Morgan senior named student of the month
JEFFERSON – Trystan Weir, a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School, is Clarksville Lions Club’s February student of the month.
He is a son of Sean and Brenda Weir of Waynesburg, and is a firefighter/EMT with Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department and is a member of the Hunting Hills Hawkeyes.
As a junior, Weir received the Junior Firefighter of the year 2014-PA. He also earned the PA-NREMT (The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians’) certification. In 2014, Weir won first-place skills USA firefighting in regionals and states. In 2015, he took first-place skills USA firefighting in regionals and will participate in states in April.
In the fall, Trystan intends to join the Air Force for fire protection. After his service, he would like to study nursing and ultimately become a flight nurse with LifeFlight.
