Disorderly house charge: California police charged five people for violating the borough’s disorderly house ordinance early Sunday at 950 Cross St. Charged were Alexander Eaton, 23, of Abington; Jeffrey L. Ranson, 23, of Erie; Montre Tates, 18, of Sterling, Va., Adama Traore, 22, of Philadelphia and Jaclynne Michelle Zetter, 20, of Mechanicsburg. Tates and Zetter were also charged with underage drinking.
Disorderly conduct charge: Lewis Campbell, 30, of West Chester, was charged Tuesday by California police with disorderly conduct stemming from a Feb. 5 confrontation with another person at the intersection of Wood and Second streets. He allegedly got into a pushing match and was yelling profanities.
DUI, other charges: James R. Veltri, 52, of 160 Veltri Drive, Canton, was charged Friday by state police with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, marijuana and paraphernalia and careless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 sobriety checkpoint by state police on Route 844, Canton. Police said he reportedly smoked marijuana and also had cocaine in the vehicle. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Theft charge: Darrell Lee Diaz, 28, of 313 Hawthorne St., Canonsburg, was charged by state police with theft after he allegedly stole clothing, a wallet containing $100 and medication on Friday from George Hollenbach of Henderson Avenue, Canton. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Officer threatened: James C. Bongiorno, 36, of 419 Henry St., North Belle Vernon, is charged by township police with aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, accused of threatening to kill and attempting to kick North Belle Vernon Officer Steve Kenyon about 12:15 a.m. Feb. 3 in a Mon Valley Hospital emergency room, court records show. Bongiorno is in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond set Monday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Bayonets stolen: Charles Hale, 305 N. Cherry Ave., told Chartiers police Monday bayonets were stolen from a briefcase in his bedroom closet.
Two arrested: Mark P. Daube, 51, of 2304 Walch St., Monongahela, and Susan Litvin, 41, of Perryopolis, were arrested Monday by Donora police on charges of possession and possession of paraphernalia after they were found with drugs in a vehicle driven by Litvin’s husband, Edward Litvin, in a parking lot in the 700 block of Meldon Avenue. Four stamp bags of suspected heroin were found near where she had been sitting, as well as prescription medication in a bottle with Daube’s name on in it. Daube told police he gave Edward Litvin pills in exchange for a ride and pills to Susan Litvin in exchange for heroin. Daube and Susan Litvin were arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on a $25,000 percentage charge. Edward Litvin will be charged at a later date.
Drug arrest: Ryan P. Meehan, 27, of 146 Morton St., New Eagle, is charged by Monongahela police with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records state. He is accused of having eight small bags of the drug when an officer approached him about 9:50 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 400 block of West Main Street. He is free on $25,000 bond set Monday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Son arrested: Brett Michael Goodwin, 28, formerly of Scenery Hill, was arrested Saturday by state police on charges of aggravated assault, burglary, criminal trespass, simple assault and harassment. He is accused of hitting his mother, Debra Goodwin, with a chair to disarm her after she grabbed a Taser to defend herself. He had been evicted from her house on Daniels Run Road, North Bethlehem, last month. He allegedly became violent when she told him to leave Saturday. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on $15,000 bond.
Fugitive caught: Christopher S. Simmons, 22, of Cumberland, Md., was arrested Monday by state police at The Meadows Casino, North Strabane, after it was determined he was wanted on a warrant in Cumberland on charges of robbery, theft and assault. Police were checking his identification to see if he was old enough to be in the casino when they discovered he was wanted. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail without bond pending extradition to Maryland.
Theft charge: Miesha R. Bell, 23, of 86 S. Wade Ave., Washington, was charged by South Strabane police with theft of lost property for allegedly taking a wallet left behind by a customer while working at Kentucky Fried Chicken, 120 Murtland Ave., Friday. Bell is reportedly seen on surveillance video picking up the wallet.
Assault arrest: Trevor J. Johnson, 38, of 324 Woodland Ave., Charleroi, was arrested Tuesday by Washington police on a charge of simple assault for allegedly punching and choking Susan Brinzer inside her apartment at Crumrine Towers, 100 S. Franklin St. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on a $15,000 percentage bond.
Jail employees harassed: Jason Weyandt, 39, an inmate at Washington County jail, is charged by city police with harassment, accused of sending letters containing lewd and obscene language to three jail employees about 11 a.m. Jan. 21. District Judge Robert Redlinger set Weyandt’s bond in the case at $10,000 Tuesday and returned him to the jail, where he also is being held on a bench warrant.
Gun threats: Eric Richards Jr., 21, of 67 First St., Avella, is charged by city police with aggravated assault, illegal possession of a firearm, harassment, conspiracy, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct, court records state. He is accused of handing a gun to another man who threatened to shoot two people sitting on a porch in the 700 block of Ewing Street about 10 p.m. Sept. 27. He is in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set Tuesday by District Judge Robert Redlinger.
