WAYNESBURG – This is a very important year for the Greene County Historical Society as it will be celebrating 90 years of preserving the history of Greene County.
Festivities begin with the historical society’s fifth annual dinner dance from 6 to 10 p.m. March 28 at the National Guard Readiness Center.
The dinner dance is a banquet showcasing what the Greene County Historical Society has planned for the coming year and it also provides an opportunity for the Society to address the public
The event will feature a delicious catered meal, Chinese auction, door prizes and a 50-50 raffle. This year, as in years past, the Beaver Bop Cats, a classic 18-piece big band, will be entertaining dinner dance guests with swing hits from the 1940s.
The Greene County Historical Society will showcase a very special anniversary exhibit, featuring artifacts organizational forefathers had first put on display, as well as information on Society pioneers who played an integral role in the development and maintenance of the Society that is nearing a century in existence
This display will be a taste of the museum’s first main exhibit this year.
Tickets for the dinner dance are $40 per person. A full table can be reserved for parties of six or more. To make a reservation, contact the museum office at 724-627-3204 or gchsalexandra@gmail.com.
