ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — The company behind the popular Tough Mudder obstacle course race series has sued a Pennsylvania man who started a race for kids called “Mini Mudder.”
Tough Mudder Inc. of New York City filed a federal lawsuit this week against Barry Dobil, of Upper Macungie Township near Allentown, claiming trademark infringement.
Tough Mudder’s suit demands that Dobil stop using the name Mini Mudder. The company also seeks monetary damages.
Dobil tells the paper he’s shocked by the suit. He says he started running his own event as a “good, fun, nothing-but-positive activity for my kids.”
Tough Mudder plans to hold 50 races in the United States and abroad this year.
