McClure to seek Republican nomination for commissioner
WAYNESBURG – Keith McClure, 60, a native of Waynesburg, announced he is seeking the Republican nomination for Greene County commissioner in the May 19 primary.
A 1972 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School, McClure attended California University. As a young man, he worked with his father who was a drilling contractor and partner in McClure & Co.
For more than 30 years, he was the warehouse manager at Fuchs Lubricants in Waynesburg and recently accepted a position with Elite Logistics in Waynesburg as a logistics supervisor for the oil and gas industry.
“I’ve literally had a lifetime of experience in the gas industry, along with three decades in management,” McClure said. “These experiences alone would uniquely qualify me as a commissioner at this particular time in Greene County’s history.”
McClure said he likes being involved in the community. He is a familiar face at sporting events, serving as past president and coach with the Waynesburg Baseball Association and is secretary of the Tri-County Wrestling Association, where he is also a referee.
His memberships include Greene County Farm Bureau, Waynesburg-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department, Waynesburg Sportsman’s Association, Waynesburg Moose Lodge, Mason-Dixon Riders and National Rifle Association.
McClure is married to Betsy Rohanna McClure, who is Greene County’s representative to the Republican State Committee. The couple has a son and daughter and a granddaughter.
“I’m a hard worker and very committed to this area,” McClure said “I’ve been lucky to make a good living here and my roots are here. Like many people, I want their children and grandchildren to stay nearby. As commissioner, I would use what I know and love to focus on creating good, sustaining jobs to keep our families together.”
