CLARKSVILLE – A Clarksville man is charged with simple assault following a dispute with his girlfriend just before midnight New Year’s Eve.
Lindsey Michell Vitucci told state police she was staying overnight at the residence of Ryan Michael Jeffries, 31, of 14 Walnut St., got in to an argument, fell down the basement stairs and broke her wrist.
According to the criminal complaint, Vitucci took a television remote control away from Jeffries because he was not paying attention to her. Jeffries then grabbed Vitucci’s cellphone and went to the stairs leading to the basement. When Vitucci followed and attempted to get the phone away from him, Jeffries allegedly pushed her, causing her to fall down the stairs.
Jeffries also is charged with harassment.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Jan. 8 before Greene County Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson.
