Holbrook woman killed in Tennessee
A Holbrook woman died New Year’s Day after being struck by a truck driven by her husband at 9 a.m. Christmas morning in Decaturville, Tenn.
Kelly Ann McCollum Henry, 45, of 2552 Golden Oaks Road, was in a truck with her husband, Chad Everett Henry, 38, when the couple allegedly argued, according to a criminal complaint filed by Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Sullivan in Decaturville.
Henry, whose address is listed as 1870 Old Finger Road, Henderson, Tenn., told police he and Kelly Henry had an argument and his wife exited his F-350 pickup truck and then was run over, according to the complaint. Henry gave police his wife’s Pennsylvania address on a Dec. 13 marriage license.
THP Public Information Officer Lt. Bill Miller said the crash is currently under investigation by highway patrol and the Decatur County district attorney’s office.
“There is really not much we can say at this time. We are investigating this crash,” he said, noting it may possibly be a criminal investigation.
Henry was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault-domestic related, driving under the influence, third offense, and possession of prescription drugs. Henry refused to submit to a blood test, but agreed to a breathalyzer, according to an affidavit. Police said Henry admitted taking Lortab and Xanax pills prior to the incident and appeared to be intoxicated. Sullivan said three types of pills were found in a container in Henry’s pants pocket. Henry told Sullivan he had a prescription for them but was unable to provide it.
He was taken to Decatur County jail, but was released Dec. 26 when he posted bond. No other charges were filed at this time in connection with his wife’s death.
According to court records, Henry had two prior DUI arrests, both in Greene County, the first Jan. 22, 2012 and the second March 5, 2012.
He is currently scheduled to appear in Decatur County General Sessions Court at 9 a.m. Jan. 26. General Sessions Court is similar to magisterial district court in Pennsylvania.
