Charleroi attorney joins DA’s staff
A Charleroi attorney joined the Washington County district attorney’s staff Monday morning.
Washington County Judge John DiSalle swore in Dennis Paluso as Eugene Vittone’s deputy district attorney, and he will be responsible for managing the office’s trial list and assisting in major criminal investigations, including heroin trafficking.
“Dennis brings energy and a commitment to improving the district attorney’s office, which will reap benefits for the taxpayers of Washington County,” Vittone said in a news release.
Paluso replaces Joseph Zupancic, who resigned Nov. 7 after being suspended amid accusations he withheld evidence from an attorney representing a defendant in a robbery case.
Paluso’s connections in the Mon Valley will be an “enormous asset” to the district attorney’s office, Vittone said.
Paluso said he felt comfortable accepting the position, and is looking forward to a “positive, new challenge.”
He served most recently for eight years as the county’s juvenile court master, and he has been in private practice since 1995, focusing on criminal law.
He is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Syracuse University School of Law.
